In this class you are encouraged to experiment with paint, gel mediums, and unconventional materials to develop a personal vocabulary. Explore a variety of techniques and applications focusing on the versatility of the medium. This is an ideal class for the beginning or intermediate student-artist who wants to improve their painting skills. The class will cover fundamentals such as: color combination, form, texture, composition and use of brushes and other painting tools. Students will use a limited palette in order to learn how to mix a variety of colors. Through a series of exercises you will learn how to prepare surfaces, paint mixing, selecting and organizing your color palette, and brushwork. Through Individual instruction, demonstrations and exercises, beginners will focus on: color theory, composition and form; advance students will work on expanding visual vocabulary and technical skills.
